Epoxy intumescent fire retardant coating
Detailed Introduction
Specification Model: GT-WRP-WHP1109
Core Performance Features
- Solvent-free epoxy intumescent coating WHP1109 is a high-build, solvent-free, two-component coating with excellent durability, corrosion and fire protection.
- Good chemical stability: acid resistance, alkali resistance and salt spray corrosion resistance are up to the standard, and the coating has no delamination, peeling and cracking in outdoor chemical environments such as slight industrial corrosion and coastal salt spray, and is suitable for various outdoor use scenarios.
- Stable product quality: the key raw materials for production (ammonium polyphosphate, pentaerythritol, epoxy resin, etc.) have clear parameter requirements, the production process is standardized, the product consistency verification conclusion is consistent, and the batch quality is controllable.
Construction Process
Follow the three-layer structure of primer + fire retardant coating + finish. The core process is: surface treatment must strictly comply with the construction specifications formulated by the company, and all surfaces to be coated shall be clean, dry and free of pollutants. All surfaces shall be evaluated and prepared in accordance with ISO 8504:2000 prior to coating.
1. Carbon steel substrate
- Substrates shall be blast cleaned to Sa2 (ISO 8501-1: 2007) or SSPC SP6 and primed surfaces. Blast cleaning to Sa 2.5 (ISO 8501-1: 2007) or SSPC SP10.
2. Galvanized substrate
- Ideally, galvanized substrates shall be sand swept to near Sa1 grade (ISO8501-1: 2007) or SSPC-SP16.
3. Primer
- Preferably, the primer shall be an epoxy polyamide coating or an epoxy zinc phosphate coating having a thickness not exceeding 75 microns. For surfacer systems, such as zinc epoxy and transition coats, the total dry film thickness shall not exceed 110 microns.
